The Scientific Research Journal (SRJ) (ISSN:1675-7009) is an open-access international refereed journal, published by UiTM Press for the Institute of Research Management & Innovation (IRMI), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. SRJ is published biannually, online and in print in Mac and September. The SRJ published findings on research in the field of smart materials, processes, designs, analysis, renewable energy that contribute to environment conservation and sustainable development of human being.
Emphasis is place on direct and clearly understood communication, originality and scholarly merit. Only original papers will be accepted and copyright of published papers will be vested in the publisher.
Submitted manuscripts should be written in English with production-quality figures. Manuscripts should be typed using Times New Roman (point 12), single-line spacing and wide margins (2.54 cm left, right, top and bottom). The manuscript should include the title of the paper; the name, address, contact numbers and email(s) of the correspondence author; a short abstract of between 200 and 300 words, which clearly summaries the paper with 4-5 keywords. Submission should be limited to a maximum of 20 typed pages.
Tables should be included within the text where appropriate and must be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and have titles that precede the table. Similarly, all figures must be numbered and a detailed caption should be provided below each figure. Figures should be embedded within the text where appropriate. Glossy photographs when required should be scanned to a suitable resolution (1200 dpi), which enables quality reproduction.
The requirements for tables, figures and pictures are as follows:
1. State the source of each figure at the end of the caption. For example 'Figure 1: Statistics of ... (source: A. Arthur, 2018)'. if from author, kindly state 'Figure 1: Statistics of ...(source by author)'
Copyright Permissions: Authors should seek necessary permissions for quotations, artwork, boxes or tables taken from other publications or from other freely available sources on the Internet before submission to SRJ. Acknowledgement must be given to the original source in the illustration legend, in a table footnote, or at the end of the quotation.
2. Submit an original figure or photograph. Line drawings must be clear, with high black and white contrast. Each figure or photograph should be prepared on a new page, embedded in the manuscript for reviewing to keep the file of the manuscript under 5 MB. These should be numbered consecutively with Roman numerals.
Figures or photographs must also be submitted separately as TIFF, JPEG, or Excel files- because figures or photographs submitted in low-resolution embedded in the manuscript cannot be accepted for publication. For electronic figures, create your figures using applications that are capable of preparing high resolution TIFF files. In general, we require 300 dpi or higher resolution for coloured and half-tone artwork, and 1200 dpi or higher for line drawings are required.
References should be numbered in ascending order and cited within square brackets, e.g. [1], [3-5], in the main body of the text. References included at the end of the manuscript are to be in the order that they appear in the main body of text. Some entry samples are as follows:
Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be initially screened by the Chief Editor, to determine appropriateness. Only those manuscripts considered of a sufficiently high standard will proceed to undergo a double blind review.
Upon completion, the manuscripts will be passed to an editorial board member for appraisal of their value. Additionally, they will be reviewed by an expert in that discipline.
